The Versace Dress

In episode eight, Carrie brought back another beloved piece from the original “Sex and the City” series- the Versace “Mille Feuille” dress that she wore in the original show’s two-part series finale. Olympics is always a fun time for international relations. Countries across the world coming together in the name of sportsmanship is a fun way to interact with each other. What this also brings together is a mix of cultures from across the nations, which of course includes fashion.

Fashion becomes one of the central points of discussion at the Olympics and the same is the case with the Beijing Winter Olympic 2022. Here are some of the best fashion moments and their sponsors from this winter Olympics.

Opening Ceremony

As the name suggests, the winter Olympics are held in the coldest region of Beijing which of course also means dressing appropriately to the weather.

Opening ceremony allows participants to showcase and represent their countries in the best possible manner, this includes wearing winter gear that portrays just that. Taking a risk to showcase high fashion remained the heart of the opening ceremony.

One of the best examples is from the delegation of Ukraine, clad in bold colored parkas and scarves around their heads, Ukraine portrayed fashion in the most cultural form.

Another example of a high fashion moment is from the delegates of Nigeria. Opting to mix trendy fashion with sophistication. Their glitter scarves and tie-dye hues on parkas proved to be the epitome of fashion.

The Sponsors

Every important event calls for important sponsorships. Such is also the case with the winter 2022 Olympics. Big brand names such as Ralph Lauren, Lululemon, and many more joined hands with delegations to create the perfect Olympics look.

Ralph Lauren created the winter gear for delegations from the United States. Their look was inclusive of the State’s flag colors and so the outfits that consisted of parkas, boots, gloves, beanies revolved around those color schemes.

Lululemon became the official sponsor of Team Canada, encompassing shades of red to fulfill their attire. From puffer jackets to boots, gloves, and beanies, the delegates were seen sporting in shades of red.

Hongkong was dressed by Fila, which encompassed Fila’s trademark design of stripes combined with the hues from Hongkong’s flag. The combination turned into a mix of modern classics and elegant activewear.

Ben Sherman designed the ceremonial outfits for Great Britain. These outfits resembled high street fashion wear. With Flag embellished sweaters, Long and oversized blue coats with boots and beanies, the ensemble of the outfit can be easily achieved on a daily basis. This provided a glimpse into Britain.

Beijing 2022 winter Olympics was a breath of fresh air for the countries that came together despite the omicron scares. Each delegate tried their best to represent their native countries in the best possible manner.

Clothing provides the freedom to try and test different elements together. Whether it is the mix of colors, styles, or materials.
